$45 per session Term 1

$55 per session including materials

New for 2020 by request from our local Hunter Valley parents we are opening enrolments for years 10-12 students for afternoon art classes for those looking to extend, embrace and study new techniques that will strengthen their art practice.

About your tutor

Lorna is an Australian Artist, and owner of The Levee Art Gallery in The Hunter Valley, NSW
She has lived all over Europe and Overseas, and was trained by the Founder of the UK National “Paint- Magic” franchise, Jocasta Innes, in Islington, London,
on Interior Design and Painting Techniques. This is where Lorna’s love of playing with colour and interior design began.
Formally Trained by Coco Republic in Sydney Lorna’s flair for design and passion for colour are evident Lorna has exhibited works in Sydney, Melbourne, Central Coast, NSW & Regional Victoria Lorna’s most recent Exhibition in Sydney saw all her Large Scale Resin Statement Pieces SELL OUT – one in the first 10 minutes of Opening the Gallery.

Lorna is a qualified Business Coach and NLP practitioner (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and is a trainer in Extended DISC personality profiling

Private commissions for her Mixed Media & Large Statement Artworks ship overseas to clients in UK, USA, Asia and Canada.

Creative Workshops are popular with beginners and more experienced artists. Lorna has an easy teaching style and embraces new techniques and mediums
with enthusiasm which is contagious.

We have the amazing Marguerite de Fondaumiere from Blackbird Studio in Sydney teaching Encaustic and Hand made paper techniques right here in our studio

Explore work that can be created by combining mark making, drawing, print, and other materials with a variety of papers, both Western and Japanese, with wax. We will experiment with layering imagery, dipping and saturating the paper. Lightweight Asian papers become translucent and luminous. Other techniques include applying colour, monotype and collaging. Encaustic can be incorporated with printmaking, painting, sculpture or used on its own. It is a versatile, durable and translucent medium that can be used to create amazing layers, textures and surfaces.

HALF DAY  Geli Plate Workshop 

WORKSHOP 10am- 2pm


You will have to supply your own Geli Plate and a Brayer – everything else is supplied.  We sell the Geli Plates and Brayers in the Art Studio Shop – so make sure you call and let us set one aside for you or you can pop in and purchase during our normal opening hours

We will be working on an 8×10 inch gel plate.

Printing with Geli Plate is Great Fun and so easy once you know how!.

In this 4 Hour workshop you will play with found and organic shapes, and mark making tools and objects to create a one off series of prints.  Use them as a stand alone artwork to frame or as a series to collage into our

 Popular Collage Art Workshop the next day – Sun 18 Aug

You will learn how to layer with colour and texture and fun in the process.  You will also be shown the other possibilities and how to apply this printmaking technique to other applications and surfaces which you can continue at home with minimal investment.
