Join us for this very special exhibition with a group of amazing women.
Some are Lawyers, some are Graphic Designers, Retired Journalists, Mothers, and grandmothers, who are on their own creative journey. All our ladies have their own stories and we would love for you to see their talent on this special occasion.
As Artists we are able to explore the fundamental story of our humanity, our passions and our construct of the world which we are so attached to. lt gives us the opportunity to sort out the things that challenge us, that we see beauty in, as well as our sense of fun and so we create. Art must have the sufficient elements that reflect our world and ensure that reality can be detected and identified, as well as showing parts of ourselves that tell a story of what we see, believe and feel. We have explored through the use of paper, canvas, board by using mix media, acrylics, oils, pastels, papermaking, collage, charcoal, graphite or watercolour to express our ideas. As Artists we have been on a journey the last 6 months with Lorna Ballantyne-Epps to find our own style. Our exhibition is a reflection of that journey.
Levee Art Gallery is kindly donating the commission from the sale of any exhibited artwork to “Maitland Love Your Sister” in honour of a dear friend, Michelle, who passed away on 19 September 2019. Michelle was looking forward to attending the exhibition on opening night. Michelle’s vision was to bring her much loved community together and to raise a huge amount of money to aid the fight against cancer, so she established “Maitland Love Your Sister”. We hope you can all join us in this innovative exhibition that brings artists from different backgrounds and professions together whilst raising funds for cancer research.
